Celebrating Three Years of Winding Branch Ranch

Two weeks ago, we gathered with friends, supporters, volunteers, board members and community partners to celebrate three years of Winding Branch Ranch.

It was a night to celebrate the sanctuary, but even more importantly, it was a night to celebrate the community that made it possible.

Three years ago, Winding Branch Ranch began with a simple belief: agriculture could be used to bring people together, strengthen communities and create a better future for both people and animals.

Since then, that belief has grown into something far larger than we could have imagined.

Today, Winding Branch Ranch is an agricultural resource center and farm animal sanctuary where children learn about food systems, families experience agriculture firsthand, communities engage in conservation-based education and animals in need are given safety, care and a second chance.

Over the past three years, thousands of volunteers, visitors, donors, educators, families, students, businesses and community leaders have helped shape what the ranch has become.

They have mucked stalls and repaired fences. They have planted gardens, transported animals, taught classes, sponsored events and written checks. They have shared our mission, introduced us to new partners and returned again and again to help us grow.

Every program launched, every animal rescued and every child reached has been made possible because someone believed this work mattered.

Our anniversary gathering gave us a rare opportunity to pause and look around the room at just a small portion of the people who have helped make these first three years possible.

There was a lot to celebrate.

But as we reflected on the past three years, we also found ourselves thinking about what comes next.

Winding Branch Ranch is still growing.

Our education programs are expanding. Our conservation work is becoming more visible. New outreach initiatives are being developed to bring agricultural education beyond the ranch. More animals continue to need help and more families, schools and community organizations are asking to be part of what happens here.

The next chapter will be ambitious, but so were the first three years.

Three years down.

And we are just getting started.
