At Winding Branch Ranch, we believe every animal deserves a second chance. We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone—250 animals rescued since opening in June 2023! This achievement represents countless hours of dedication from our volunteers, supporters, and adopters who help us fulfill our mission to rescue, revive, and rehome farm animals in need.

Our 250th Animal Rescue: Relocating 15 Sheep to Their Forever Home
Last week, our team undertook a challenging yet rewarding mission: the rescue and relocation of 15 sheep. These animals, like many we help, needed immediate assistance to secure a safe and loving environment. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our incredible volunteers and the generous family who opened their hearts and home, the sheep were safely caught, transported, and are now happily settled into their new lives.
The adopting family has committed to providing lifelong love and care, ensuring these sheep will never face neglect or uncertainty again. It’s stories like this that highlight the importance of farm animal rescue and the community it takes to make these efforts possible.

Why Animal Rescue Matters
Every rescue, including this recent sheep relocation, aligns with our goal to educate communities about humane and ethical farming practices. Farm animals often face neglect or abandonment, and providing them with a safe haven ensures they can live out their lives with dignity and compassion.

Volunteer Efforts: The Heart of Our Rescue Work
Our volunteers are the backbone of our rescue operations. Catching and transporting 15 sheep safely required teamwork, patience, and a deep commitment to animal welfare. If you’re looking for ways to make a difference, consider joining our volunteer program—there are opportunities for everyone, from feeding animals to assisting with events.
Educational Opportunities at Winding Branch Ranch
Animal rescue isn’t just about saving lives; it’s about fostering understanding and compassion. That’s why we offer programs like:
Rescue Ranch School for children ages 2-6, where young learners can engage with farm animals and explore humane farming practices.
Rescue Ranch Camp for kids ages 8-13, offering hands-on experiences with rescued animals while learning about animal care and farm life.
We also provide resources like our popular guide on how to care for chicks—perfect for anyone considering backyard chickens or looking to improve their animal husbandry skills.
Join Us in Our Mission
As we celebrate this 250-animal rescue milestone, we’re reminded that none of this is possible without the compassion and support of people like you. Whether you adopt, volunteer, donate, or share our stories, every action helps us rescue, revive, and rehome farm animals in need.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we can save even more lives.
