Compassion in Action
SPRING REGISTRATION CLOSED - STAY TUNED FOR FALL REGISTRATION
Compassion in Action is a hands-on education program at Winding Branch Ranch that helps students connect empathy, responsibility, and real-world impact through humane education and experiential learning. Participants engage with rescued farm animals while exploring animal care, agriculture, and environmental awareness in an active farm sanctuary setting.
Where Compassion Meets Hands-On Learning

Humane Education & Animal Science
Students explore animal behavior, basic animal science, and humane care practices through guided lessons and meaningful interactions with rescued farm animals. Learning is grounded in real stories and real experiences, helping students build empathy, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how animals experience the world.

Experiential Learning & Agriculture
Through farm and garden-based activities, students learn about food systems, sustainability, and the relationship between people, animals, and the land. Hands-on projects encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility while reinforcing concepts through direct experience.

Community and Compassion
Winding Branch Ranch is an active farm animal rescue first, and animal care always comes before programming. Animals come from many different backgrounds, and students are taught how to interact safely and respectfully while learning patience, boundaries, and accountability in a real-world setting.

Leadership and Responsibility
Students develop confidence and leadership skills by participating in the real work of the sanctuary. Through teamwork, problem solving, and guided responsibility, they learn how their actions contribute to the wellbeing of animals, people, and the environment. These experiences help young people see themselves as capable caretakers and thoughtful members of their community.
