Winding Branch Ranch is accepting applications for a Summer Educational Internship for two individuals interested in animal welfare, nonprofit work, education, and ethical, sustainable farming.

This is a learning-focused internship designed to provide supervised exposure to farm animal care in a sanctuary setting, along with insight into nonprofit operations, education programs, and communications.

Program Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks (June–July 2026)

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 15–25 hours per week (mornings), scheduled flexibly around learning goals and availability

  • Stipend: $75 per week to help offset incidental participation expenses

  • Academic Credit: Available, depending on requirements

What You'll Learn

  • Humane and ethical farm animal care through observation and supervised participation

  • Animal behavior, enrichment, and welfare practices

  • Introductory nonprofit operations and outreach

  • Communications support, including animal profiles, web content, and basic graphic design

Who Should Apply

  • Applicants must be 17 years or older. Applicants under 18 must provide parent or guardian consent.

  • Comfortable in an outdoor, farm-based environment

  • No prior animal experience required

This is an educational internship, not employment. The $75 stipend is not wages and is not tied to hours worked. There is no guarantee of future employment.
