Winding Branch Ranch is accepting applications for a Summer Educational Internship for two individuals interested in animal welfare, nonprofit work, education, and ethical, sustainable farming.
This is a learning-focused internship designed to provide supervised exposure to farm animal care in a sanctuary setting, along with insight into nonprofit operations, education programs, and communications.
Program Details

Duration: 8 weeks (June–July 2026)

Time Commitment: Approximately 15–25 hours per week (mornings), scheduled flexibly around learning goals and availability

Stipend: $75 per week to help offset incidental participation expenses

Academic Credit: Available, depending on requirements
What You'll Learn

Humane and ethical farm animal care through observation and supervised participation

Animal behavior, enrichment, and welfare practices

Introductory nonprofit operations and outreach

Communications support, including animal profiles, web content, and basic graphic design
Who Should Apply

Applicants must be 17 years or older. Applicants under 18 must provide parent or guardian consent.

Comfortable in an outdoor, farm-based environment

No prior animal experience required
This is an educational internship, not employment. The $75 stipend is not wages and is not tied to hours worked. There is no guarantee of future employment.
